City Tattersalls sent a contingent of 13 bowlers to contest the 2024 Turf Bowlers Carnival in Melbourne.

The competition was extremely close with 4 or 5 teams in with a chance of winning the competition going into the last round. All contenders had lost at least two games up to that point with City Tattersalls unable to be caught if we won all rinks. Unfortunately, Brisbane were much too good on the day , in the last game , and won decisively . This  resulted in them claiming the overall title. City Tatts ended up coming fourth overall . As usual the games were played in great spirit.

In the final wash up, City Tatts won 6 of 9 games, including one against Singapore, which didn't count in the final tally. The individual rinks performed creditably winning 5, 6 and 7 games respectively.

Our thanks to the players from Bentleigh and Hunters Hill who supplemented our City Tatts contingent. Finally, it was nice to see our stalwart, Ron Harrington, recognised as a life member of the Turf Bowlers Carnival.

Canberra will host the event in 2025 at Queanbeyan RSL club.
